Importing address info (CSV format) into your Gmail Contacts

by Donny, on July 21st, 2008

Data entry is a time consuming task, that’s why importing pre-entered contact data into your existing address book is so useful. This tutorial will walk you through importing a contact csv, or Comma Separated Value, file into your gmail contacts.

Ok so you have downloaded and have access to a CSV formatted file. From when you first log into Gmail, towards the middle left screen there is a “Contacts” link. Click on Contacts and click on Import (top right).

Once you’re within Gmails import area, make sure that “also import these contacts to” and your appropriate group is selected.

Navigate to the file, open, import, and you’re done!
